The Kings Cup drinking game is a very fun game, but it has a lot of details to remember. Once you start playing the game, though, you pick up the rules and it becomes easy to play. Despite its complexity, this is a very popular drinking game because it can get people very drunk, very fast. This game may also be called Ring of Fire or Circle of Death, or just Kings for short.
***below-paragraph-1.shtml***Kings Cup requires a deck of cards, plenty of alcohol, a cup, and plenty of friends. It is also helpful to have a list of the house rules on hand because they always differ and can be difficult to remember.
Place the cup in the middle of the table and spread the cards in a circle around the cup face down.
There are a lot of variations in the Kings Cup drinking game and most people will play it different every time they play, so these rules are more like a guideline.
The simplest and lesser known version of the game doesn't use the cup at all and has players drinking based on the color of card drawn. If they draw a black card they get to give another player the drinks based on the number on the card. If they draw red then they drink the number of drinks based on the card.
Another version and the more popular option is a game that is like a bunch of mini games in one. For whatever card is drawn there is a rule for what has to be done when it is overturned. Here is a look at some of the rules for what the person drawing the card has to do for each card:
- Ace: A 'social', all players drink (OR you get to make a rule and anyone who breaks the rule must drink).
- Two: You give two drinks to someone you choose (OR everyone but you has to drink).
- Three: You take 3 drinks.
- Four: All females must drink (OR the last person to touch the floor has to drink).
- Five: All males must drink (OR when a five is drawn everyone must slap the table and the last one to slap drinks).
- Six: A 'waterfall', everyone has to start drinking at the same time and nobody can stop drinking until the person before them stops. So if you have four players, player four must stop first, then three, then two, then you.
- Seven: You become the thumb master throughout the game until someone else pulls a Seven, so henceforth anytime you put your thumb on the table during the game everyone else has to and the last person to do it must drink (OR the last person to point to the sky drinks).
- Eight: You must make a statement about something you have never done and everyone who has done it must drink (OR you choose someone that has to drink every time you have to drink and you have to drink every time they have to drink).
- Nine: Choose a word or phrase and each player has to come up with a rhyming word or phrase going around the table. Whoever can't come up with a rhyme drinks.
- Ten: Choose a category and players must think of something that fits the category. Whoever can't think of something must drink.
- Jack: You get to make up your own rule that everyone must follow and if they don't then they have to drink.
- Queen: You get to be the question master and ask a question of any other player at any time throughout the game until the next queen is drawn. If the player you direct your question to answers the questions or responds in anyway other than to say "fuck you" than he or she must drink.
- King: You pour some of whatever you are drinking into the cup in the middle. Everyone who draws a king must do this until the last king is drawn and that person must drink what is in the cup.
To re-iterate, these are more like a general guideline for how it can be played, not set rules for the specified cards, because house rules always differ on what rule each card should represent. But the game usually ends whenever the last King is drawn. If you wish though, you can continue playing until all the cards are drawn.
