BLT Party

If you are looking to throw a fun, entertaining party that's out of the norm, the BLT party is a must! BLT stands for Black tie, Lingerie or Toga. If you don't tell your guests what the BLT stands for though, be prepared for a few surprises that might get thrown your way. You might end up seeing people drinking Bacardi Lite with Tonic while eating BLT sandwiches. If you want a good laugh, then by all means just tell them it's a BLT party and see what happens. lol Otherwise, it'd be best to let your clueless guests in on the proper definition… as most people don't know what the BLT stands for.

What To Wear

The BLT party is traditionally a Black Tie, Lingerie, or Toga affair, where you dress in one of the themes or any combination of the three. For example - black tie would generally mean dressing to the T from head to toe in a suit, but in this case you can wear dress attire up top and undie bottoms (a-la Tom Cruise in Risky Business style), or wear a toga with a tie, or a variation of lingerie and toga, etc. There are a lot of ways you can dress up depending on your style, from funky like Lady Gaga to Meghan Fox type sexy!

The Setting

BLT parties are best kept indoors and closer to summer as possible. It could be taken outdoors in warm weather, but not until at least after ten o'clock. Little children and their parents might not get too stoked about seeing partially naked people running around before the sun goes down. Also, do take temperature into consideration. If you are thinking of holding the BLT in the middle of the winter with subzero temperatures, that B in BLT might end up standing for "Blanket," and that's just no fun.

What To Buy

The great thing about BLT parties is that you won't need to buy any expensive supplies from the store. Decorations are hardly necessary either. The point of the party is to be partially naked and allow the night to work its magic. Having BLT sandwiches on hand, however, can add to them. Basically, buy any combination of things that amount to the combination of letters spelling BLT. If you get beer, buy Budweiser, LaBatt's, and Tecate. You get the idea. With the BLT party, your guests can get as creative and almost as naked as they want. We'll leave the rest to you.
