Drinking Game "Beer Checkers"

Beer Checkers Drinking Game

Beer Checkers is a drinking game like normal checkers, but played out with shot glasses of alcohol instead of regular checker pieces.

What You Need

  • Checker board
  • 24 shot glasses
  • Two distinguishing kinds of alcohol (i.e. - light beer and dark beer, or rum and vodka, etc.)

Setup

Fill up all the shot glasses halfway with alcohol... beer or liquor, your choice. But if you use liquor, you might wanna consider pouring only a quarter full in all the glasses instead, because you can get tanked pretty fast with hard liquor. Either way though, whether you use beer or liquor, don't fill the glasses up all the way... reasons explained further below.

The setup for this game is just like the regular checker game... with 12 game pieces per side, placed in positions like the picture example shown above. (In this case, 2 different sets of shot glasses are substituted as game pieces per side.)

In order to distinguish the game pieces of opposing sides, you can either use 2 different sets of 12 shot glasses or 2 different colors of alcohol. But it's usually simpler to just go with the latter... 2 differing kinds of alcohol, like light beer and dark beer, or rum and vodka.

Game Play

The game play is the same as the normal checkers rules, but with the exception that you have to drink the shots of alcohol that are 'jumped' by the opponent.

Also, the loser of this game has to finish all the remaining shots of alcohol left on the board!

The reason the shot glasses are filled up only halfway, even when you're playing with just beer, is because the only time you get to fill up the shot glasses all the way is when you gain a 'King'.

For an explanation of what a 'King' game piece is or more info on all the other facets of checkers, you can check out the standard rules for normal checkers.
